Located on Japan's northernmost island Hokkaido, the skiing resorts of Niseko and Rusutsu provide an unforgettable experience for any skier. The unique geography of the island with its mountain structure and extinct volcanoes, ensures the presence of fluffy powder snow throughout the surrounding slopes. The varied pistes, situated over three mountains, are lined by picturesque landscapes, overlooking dramatic gorges and silver birch forests.

The Niseko mountain resort stretch across four ski areas and has a free shuttle bus connection to three local villages, which boast a traditional Japanese spirit.

Set at the foot of Mount Yotei, the Rusutsu resort is an all-inclusive center with great links between the three mountains of the area, various pistes and the local villages.

For that apres ski entertainment, the local area offers a rich selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Apart from skiing, the guests of both resorts can enjoy other winder activities such as dog sledding, snowmobiling, snow rafting, snow tubing as well as night skiing.

There is a number of traditional Japanese activities available off the slopes, including a number of local onsen (outdoor natural hot springs) and a great selection of restaurants, offering a wide variety of traditional Japanese flavours. For a true taste of Japan, visitors are encouraged to try the many dishes from the menus, such as udon (thick white noodles), ramen (chinese style noodles in a pork or chicken stock), tempura (battered vegetables or shrimp) as well as the internationally renowned sushi. All ingredients in Japanese cuisine are skillfully combined in order to bring out natural flavours and produce an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

To further experience Japan and its culture, visitors can take a short trip to Sapporo, the island's largest city. Those visiting in February have the opportunity to experience the world-famous Sapporo Ice Festival.
